Deposit: Solana to bwickchain

Depositing transfers your BWICK tokens from Solana into bwickchain. Your tokens are locked in the bridge pool vault on Solana, and an equivalent amount is minted on bwickchain.

Prerequisites

  • A Solana wallet (Phantom, Solflare, etc.) with BWICK tokens
  • An bwickchain wallet (Keplr, Leap, or BWICK Wallet)
  • No SOL needed. The bridge sponsors the Solana fee for you (see below).

No SOL required (gasless deposits)

You can hold BWICK in a wallet with zero SOL and still bridge in.

Why this works: signing is not paying

On Solana these are two separate roles:
  • Signing authorizes part of a transaction (for example, “yes, move my BWICK”). It is a local cryptographic operation with your key. It costs nothing and touches no SOL, you could sign offline.
  • The fee payer is one designated account on the transaction, and only that account’s SOL is charged for the network fee.
Normally you are both the signer and the fee payer, which is why you usually need SOL. But the roles are separable. For a deposit, the bridge sets the relayer as the fee payer. So:
  1. The app builds your deposit transaction with the relayer as fee payer.
  2. Your wallet just signs it (authorizing the move of your own BWICK). No SOL leaves your wallet, the wallet only produces a signature, it does not broadcast or pay.
  3. The signed transaction is sent to the relayer, which adds its own signature and submits it, paying the Solana fee and the one-time account rent itself.
Your wallet never held SOL and never spent any. It only signed.

Fallback

The sponsor is rate-limited to prevent abuse. If it is briefly unavailable, the app falls back to a normal self-paid transaction, which then does need a little SOL. So an empty-of-SOL wallet works for the smooth path, and a tiny SOL balance is a harmless backup.

Step-by-Step Guide

1
Connect your Solana wallet
2
Click the Connect Solana button at the top of the Bridge page. Select your preferred Solana wallet from the dropdown. Your BWICK token balance will appear once connected.
3
Register your bwickchain address (first time only)
4
If this is your first time using the bridge, you need to link your Solana wallet to an bwickchain address. You can either:
5
  • Connect a wallet — Click “Connect BWICK Wallet” and select Keplr, Leap, or BWICK Wallet to auto-fill your address
  • Enter manually — Type your bwickchain address (starts with bwick1, 39+ characters)
  • 6
Click Register Address to create the on-chain link. This is a one-time step per wallet pair.
    7
Each Solana wallet can only be linked to one bwickchain address. You cannot change this mapping after registration.
    8
    Enter the deposit amount
    9
Type the amount of BWICK you want to bridge. The UI shows your available Solana balance and the minimum deposit requirement.
    10
Click Max to fill your full available balance (minus a small buffer for gas fees).
    11
    Confirm the transaction
    12
Click Deposit and approve the transaction in your Solana wallet. The UI will show:
    13
  • Approving Transaction… — Waiting for your wallet signature
  • Confirming on Solana… — Waiting for Solana network confirmation
  • 14
    Track your deposit
    15
After confirmation, the Deposit Status Tracker appears with your Solana transaction signature. The relayer detects your deposit, waits for finality (32 slots, ~15 seconds), and mints tokens on bwickchain.

    Processing Time

    StepDuration
    Solana confirmation~5 seconds
    Finality wait (32 slots)~15 seconds
    Relayer detection + mint~5-10 seconds
    Total~30 seconds

    What Happens Under the Hood

    1. Your BWICK tokens transfer from your wallet → pool vault on Solana
    2. The bridge program emits a DepositEvent
    3. The relayer's PoolMonitor detects the event
    4. After 32-slot finality, the relayer's BwickExecutor mints tokens on bwickchain
    5. Minted tokens appear in your registered bwickchain address

Only deposit amounts above the minimum (currently 1 BWICK). Deposits below the minimum will be rejected by the bridge program.
